Privacy Policy

Keel Audio ("Keel", "we", "us") is operated by HFL Web App Development SRL (CUI RO46278022), Romania. This policy explains what we collect and why. We keep it minimal on purpose.

What the app collects

Nothing by default. The Keel macOS driver and companion app process audio entirely on your Mac. We do not record, transmit, or have any access to your audio. The app runs fully offline after a one-time license activation and contains no analytics or tracking.

What the website collects

• Privacy-friendly analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures page views without cookies and without collecting personal data or building a profile of you.
• Messages you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive the name, email address, and message you provide, and use them only to reply.

Purchases & license activation

Payments are handled by our checkout provider Lemon Squeezy, who acts as Merchant of Record. They collect the billing details needed to process your purchase and issue your license key under their own privacy policy. We receive your email address and order details to deliver the license and provide support. We never see or store your full card details. License activation validates your key and does not transmit any audio or personal content.

Email

Email to hello@keelaudio.com is delivered through Cloudflare Email Routing to our inbox. If you opt into the early-adopter or macOS 26 early-access list, we use your email only to contact you about that and you can opt out anytime.

Your rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you, request a copy, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@keelaudio.com. If you're in the EU/EEA or UK, you have rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

Terms of Service

These terms govern your purchase and use of Keel Audio. By installing or buying Keel, you agree to them.

License

A Keel license is a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use the software on the number of Macs stated at purchase (one Mac per license unless noted otherwise). The purchase is one-time and includes free updates within the version you bought. You may not resell, redistribute, or reverse-engineer the software except where that restriction is prohibited by law.

Trial

The free trial is the full product for 14 days, with no watermark or channel limits. After 14 days it requires a license to continue.

Payments & Merchant of Record

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, who is the Merchant of Record and handles billing, applicable taxes/VAT, and invoicing. Your purchase is also subject to their terms at checkout.

Acceptable use & suitability

Keel is a reliability tool, not a guarantee. You are responsible for testing it on your own rig — that's what the free trial is for — before relying on it in a live or production setting. See our System Requirements for which macOS versions and capabilities are verified.

Warranty & liability

The software is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Keel is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost recordings, interrupted streams, or missed events.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Refund Policy

Because the trial is the full product, we ask you to test thoroughly before purchasing. That said, if something genuinely isn't working and we can't resolve it, email hello@keelaudio.com within 14 days of purchase and we'll make it right or refund you. Refunds are issued through our checkout provider to your original payment method.

If you bought through a Merchant of Record (e.g. Lemon Squeezy), their refund terms also apply and refunds may be processed on their platform.
